It's got a working steering rack, a trunk contained convertible roof, and an engine with moving pistons. Definitely the coolest set I've built in a long time. My mom bought it for me as a going off to college gift.

That is pretty cool.

It looks better without the stickers. Nifty hard top vert action too.

My thoughts exactly. If only the panels were red...

The coolness to price ratio is quite good on this one. $40 for your choice of a hot rod or a desert rally car (two designs in one box thing)

Custom body! That's the beauty of Lego. I don't have much Technic experience though so mine would be brick built. I'd do some cylinder heads too.

Given the size of it, that's, what, a 8l V6? Those have to be at least 5" bores.

This is my first technic build. I'm tempted to make a head

If anything just a 2x6 plate with the 1x2 grille pieces on it.

I wish these kits were around when I was a kid, they're really cool.

Who says you have to be a kid?

I think my wallet will be missing $40 plus tax soon. I'll put it next to this Lego masterpiece I acquired over the summer.

Almost like an industrial Diesel in size.

Does spaceship-Guy's helmet come pre-broken?

Sort of, it looks broken but is one piece.

Nice! My son and I will be building 8070b soon.
